Former AEW wrestler Marko Stunt announces his retirement from wrestling at the age of 28. He shared the news on his X (Twitter) account, saying that “with a heavy but grateful heart, [il] announcement today [sa] retirement from wrestling” for health reasons.

He would like to thank AEW, GCW, the wrestlers he shared the ring with, and the fans. Marko Stunt, however, hopes to continue contributing to the world of wrestling in different ways.

“To my fans, friends and the wrestling community,

It is with a heavy but grateful heart that I announce today my retirement from wrestling. This decision wasn't easy because wrestling was the biggest part of my life for so long, filled with moments that shaped the person I am today. It has been an extraordinary journey, full of passion, sweat, tears and unparalleled joy.

Over the years, I have sacrificed my body for wrestling. I'm definitely not the biggest, but I used this. I let myself be manhandled and loved it. But after consulting my doctor, I was advised to prioritize my long-term health and retire from the ring. Accepting this reality has been one of the hardest times of my career, but I know it is the right decision.

First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude to AEW. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to showcase my skills and share my passion with fans around the world. Wrestling on national television was a dream I could never have imagined going into this business, and it was AEW that made that dream come true. To everyone in AEW, from the production team to the wrestlers who have become my family, thank you for believing in me and giving me a home.

I would also like to thank Brett Lauderdale and GCW. Brett, you gave me my start and GCW became the launching pad for my career. This is where I found my voice, learned to accept that I am unique, and became the person and wrestler I am today. You gave me life-changing opportunities, and I will always be grateful.

To all the wrestlers I've shared the ring with, you know who you are. Each of you has played a role in my journey by teaching me lessons, pushing me to my limits, and sharing unforgettable moments. Whether we were adversaries or partners, you all have a special place in my heart.

Finally, to the fans who encouraged me, supported me and believed in me during every match and every show, thank you. Your energy, your songs and your support have given me more strength than you will ever know. You are the heart and soul of this industry, and without you, none of this would have been possible.

As I retire from the rings, I take with me memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. Even if I retire from the ring, wrestling will always be a part of who I am. I hope to continue to contribute to this incredible industry in different ways and stay connected with all of you who have made this dream a reality.

Thank you for everything.”

Marko Stunt joined AEW in the early days of the company and was a member of the Jurassic Express tag team. He left the company in 2022 and played a few matches on the independent scene. He returned to Collision to face Jack Perry in the summer of 2024 and this was his final match.
