This Friday morning, four Spanish regions are still on orange alert for heavy rain. These are Andalusia, the Balearic Islands (except Ibiza and Formentera), the community of Valencia and Catalonia.

The Balearic Islands are also affected by a thunderstorm alert, from 10 a.m. for the Island of Majorca and from 4 p.m. for the Island of Menorca.

Almost three days after the exceptional rains which fell on the south-east of Spain, the country is still in a state of shock this Friday morning. Three days of national mourning were declared while the latest report showed 158 deaths on Thursday evening. This figure should inevitably rise given the many missing people still being sought, according to the authorities.
