Mayulu savors her Titi d’Or and admits “I like defending now!”

Senny Mayulu, 18-year-old attacking midfielder trained at Paris Saint-Germain and recently under professional contract (until 2027), won the Titi d’Or this Tuesday (election of the best player of the training center over the year) . On the sidelines of this award, he spoke at the microphone of France Bleu Paris. The opportunity to discuss this title, its evolution and its objectives for the future.

Mayulu « it’s a great pride. »

“It’s good because it’s a trophy, really, which comes from the club. It’s for those at the training center, so yes, it’s a great Source of pride. That’s all the work we’ve done since the beginning. From the pre-training, now the training… it pays off.

I’m a technical person. I have a good vision of the game and I like to make others score, to score… And I learned a new trick this year: I like to defend now!

Was it Luis Enrique who taught you how to defend? [Rires]

Yes I think, and it’s also the system that does that.

By signing for PSG, you made a dream come true. You have more left, I imagine?

I would like to… win trophies like everyone else. Collectives, individuals. Becoming a good person off and on the field, of course. And progress in everything I do in life. »

It is indeed undoubtedly very special for a Titi to win this title, by being chosen by his teammates in particular. A beautiful consideration which is touching, even if it gives no guarantee for the future. We still note that the last winner, Warren Zaire-Emery (mid-18 years old), won this season at PSG.

Mayulu can believe it, he got playing time and achieved some interesting things. Even though there is of course still work to be done, competition and demands are very high in Paris. You will need to know how to remain calm and patient. We have this hope for the young midfielder, who displays a great mentality here.

We feel calm and in love with the club, with a taste for the effort that has visibly come in part this season. Coach Luis Enrique knew how to put his philosophy in place and Mayulu understood what it takes to help the team and find a place. It’s up to him to continue on this path.
