With 110 points scored, Strasbourg delivers its benchmark match against Limoges

Between and , at the opening of the 6th day of Betclic ELITE, we expected a historic record. That of Nicolas Lang and the number of 3-point shots scored in Betclic ELITE. Instead, we were treated to a new personal best mark, that of Brice Dessert and his 25 points. The Strasbourg interior, well helped by its leader Edon Maxhuni (22 points), were the great architects of Strasbourg's large victory over Limoges CSP this Friday, October 25 (110-90).

Nicolas Lang's record postponed until later

However, it was written that Nicolas Lang (20 points including 2/5 at 3-points) would break the record for 3-point shots scored in Betclic ELITE, now co-held with Eric Micoud for a few more days. The draft of the article on this subject had even already been written. With “only” 3 shots to go, he who has always succeeded this season, in his native Alsace and in front of his family, all the ingredients were there for the record to fall. Except for one detail: his evening opponent and former team, SIG Strasbourg, which stifled the CSP in most sectors.

The axe1-5 Maxhuni – Dessert en fusion

Inside first, with the record holder of the evening, Brice Dessert. Author of his best career mark in a match (25 points on 11/13 on shots), the latter could even have been much more important without his guilty pleasure, free throws (3/9). Unstoppable in the paint on both sides of the floor, he also grabbed 12 rebounds including 6 offensive, finishing with 27 rating. On the exteriors, it is Edon Maxhuni (22 points), whose return in 3 matches is saving for the team of Laurent Vila, who orchestrated the great Strasbourg performance. The Finn stole the gunner of the evening costume from Nicolas Lang by being irresistible behind the arc, with 5 3-point shots scored on 7 attempts.

Faced with a Limoges CSP which has not succeeded outside the walls of Beaublanc since the end of last season (12 consecutive defeats away in Betclic ELITE), Strasbourg therefore dominated the debates. Continuing its double victory against SLUC , SIG quickly took off against Limougauds. Despite two long-range shots very early in the game from Nicolas Lang (the only ones of the evening), Strasbourg's lead was already 15 points at half-time (51-36). Uncompromising inside, penetrating to rush into the intervals, the Alsatian club continued in the second half to deliver their best performance of the year. The latter was punctuated by a season record with 110 points scored in total. This Friday evening, the records were definitely for Strasbourg and no one else…
