The Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Livestock, Dr. Mabouba Diagne, announced that he had set the price of a bag of livestock feed at 5,000 francs. But, former minister Babacar Gaye informs that this only concerns “ the bag sold in fairs“. He elaborates in a post on Instagram.

When I heard of this information tending to make people believe that the price of livestock feed had been reduced, I hastened to contact the Kaffrine livestock services to order a good quantity in order to strengthen the feeding of my 50 sheep stabled in my sheepfold in Kaffrine“, wrote Babacar Gueye.

The former minister underwent verification. “ I was very surprised to be informed that the price of 5,000 francs only concerns the bag sold at fairgrounds. And that the sale is made in proportion to the livestock parked within the forail enclosure according to the available quota“, he stressed.

He adds : ” there remains another possibility that any breeder can purchase from the livestock service at 9,000 francs per bag. Unfortunately, a breeder can only purchase a 50kg bag depending on the availability of the subsidized quota received.
