The return of Remco Evenepoel to a peloton is near. The Belgian rider will return to competition during the Critérium du Dauphiné (June 2 to 9), he who has long been sidelined from races due to his broken collarbone contracted during the tour of the Basque Country at the beginning of April.

There will therefore have been almost 60 days between the two events. Obviously, the Belgian is “can’t wait to get back to competition”as he mentions in the press release from his team Soudal – Quick Step.

He pursues : “I’m in a good position after the Itzulia crash and the injuries I suffered there, but there is still work to do to get back to my best level. I am happy to discover Dauphiné. »

Tour de France objective

Unless there are any surprises, Remco Evenepoel should participate in the Tour de France this summer (June 29 – July 21) for the first time in his career. He therefore seeks to have the best possible preparation for the Grande Boucle.

“I will look less at my position in the general classification, because it will rather be an opportunity to get back into the rhythm of the race and see where I am”, he also declared. But only a few days ago, the Belgian champion admitted that his feelings were not “not very good”
