Thanks to Blouses Roses and partners, Borne Melo equips the “Le Sapin d’Or” nursing home in Bélesta. A plus for residents.
The Borne Mélo, an innovation to increase the quality of relationships through music, has arrived at the “Le sapin d’Or” nursing home in Bélesta. It is an interactive terminal which allows residents to have independent access to the music they like. It offers stimulating and fun musical activities (memory games, singing games, etc.). Isabelle Da Silva, sales advisor, detailed the properties of this tool, its simple operation and the thousands of possibilities or choices it offers, using its touch screen and also by a button-key on a keyboard resembling a vintage telephone dial.
This “gerontechnology” can be used by all stakeholders in the establishment, residents, families, nursing staff, facilitators, psychologists, etc. in three different ways. Pleasure music with thousands of easy-to-access songs. Then the music-animation provides a wide choice of cultural and leisure content to stimulate all types of residents.
Finally, music for therapeutic purposes, a memo-musical heritage designed specifically for Alzheimer's patients and other neurodegenerative diseases.
This program was analyzed by research as part of the MAAMI (Alzheimer's disease and implicit motor learning) project of the National Research Agency on the theme of Alzheimer's, motor skills and music. From the company Onze Plus, an idea and a French design, she is the pioneer in access to culture and the development of non-drug solutions for older people and disabilities, rewarded with 4 trophies and the “Empl'itude” CSR label.
The Mélo terminal is an innovation to increase the quality of relationships through music and exclusive musical games, lotto, find the words, karaoke, cognitive workshops, sound and relaxation slideshows, all therapeutic functions. This project was successful thanks to the Blouses Roses and particularly their president, Solange Parcy, the facilitators, Laetitia and Elisabeth, the partners, CPAM, Caisse d'Epargne Midi-Pyrénées, and Harmonie Mutuelle group VYV. “The Pink Blouses are there to carry out projects, they provide an added benefit for the comfort of residents,” underlined Mickaël Asensi, the director of “Sapin d’Or”.
