Very quickly, firefighters arrived on site to control the flames and prevent them from spreading. “We managed to keep the flames in the attic and are now in control of the fire,” describes the group leader, Lieutenant Bonnotte, on site. “We are now starting the stripping and clearing operation to prevent any resumption,” he continues.

The cause of the fire was still unknown when firefighters responded. GRDF was also present on the scene to cut off the gas supply.

Two young children

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, the owner of the house was able to leave her home with her two young children, aged 4 and a half years and two months, before the arrival of emergency services. The family will be rehoused by the municipality.

In total, around fifteen firefighters from the Vesoul, Villersexel and Dampierre-sur-Linotte barracks were mobilized as well as three fire engines and an aerial lifting arm.
