The collapse of a bar-restaurant in the Balearic Islands on Thursday May 23, 2024 left four dead and 16 injured. The mayor of the city indicated this Tuesday, May 28 that this building did not have a license to open the terrace which collapsed.

The mayor of Palma, in Majorca, indicated on Tuesday May 28, 2024 that the terrace of the bar-restaurant which collapsed last Thursday did not have a license to open the roof terrace. Its collapse caused the death of four people and injured sixteen people.

“I can confirm, based on reports” available, that the establishment did not have “activity license or authorization to occupy the terrace” located on the first floor which collapsed, said Jaime Martínez Llabrés during a press conference in Palma, reports theFrance Media Agency (AFP).
