At the noir novel festival, conferences, workshops and meetings with authors.

The 27th edition of the Frontignan International Black Novel Festival is off to a good start. In this Olympic year, the body is being honored by 36 writers in all possible variations. At the end of the day of this Friday, May 24, which saw numerous workshops occupied by Frontignan students, the choir of Occitan Rapsodia created by Benoît Séverac and Florian Brinker and the children of the calandreta Dels Dalfinets de Sète offered a reading musical with the work Occitan Rapsodia. This show in Occitan was presented as a national preview.

Another way of approaching literature

Then the mayor, Michel Arrouy, surrounded by partners, officially inaugurated the festival. “With the FIRN, numerous meetings are offered to schoolchildren, seniors, working people, so that all audiences in the city can make the festival their own. It is an event which marks the life of the city throughout throughout the year and which culminates in this FIRN weekend.”

This Saturday, the workshops resumed within the Maurice-Clavel high school: Café book, One Shot, performed reading, dark dictation and artistic workshops… The crowds were continuous throughout the day. There were many visitors. The two conference centers each had their success, seeing writers meet for rich and constructive meetings. Sarah Thiriet offered her engraving workshop and “beautiful image machine”. For this artist author, “engraving is a medium that has never died. Far from Gutenberg, it is no longer a publishing process but the creation is still as rich thanks to the play of materials and inks. The work remains alive and “urgency of creation is expressed with this technique”.

Writers were able to dedicate their works to buyers who came to interact directly with them. For Yves Jaumain from the FIRN organization, “the atmosphere is good, we see people at the two conference centers. We have created events like the reading-performance of Gaspard Flamant with the dancer Donkeyzz 971 who mixes literature and hip-hop, or the performed reading of Charles Aubert with the Balaru Olympic Ring, where reading meets boxing So, we try to invent another way of approaching literature No one is far from literature, we just have to find passages. , we are not all athletes but with athletes we create bridges.”

The FIRN continued on Sunday with signings from authors, numerous meetings and literary exchanges.
