The Occitanie Region created the Claude-Nougaro Prize in 2006 at the initiative of Martin Malvy and Hélène Nougaro to give young people a voice, encourage them to write and to promote their talents. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the death of Claude Nougaro, this prize has a particular resonance. An artist who masters language with humor and fantasy, he still perfectly embodies the spirit of the competition aimed at the musicality of our language, our accent, and our cultures among young people. Culture is a formidable vector of emancipation and freedom of expression. I can only encourage young people to speak out to invent the world of tomorrow. See you at the next edition of the Nougaro Prize! » declared Carole Delga – President of the Occitanie / Pyrenees-Mediterranean Region
