VIDEO. A fire breaks out in a collective house in Segré: six people evacuated

During the night of Thursday May 23 to Friday May 24, a fire broke out in a collective house on rue Victor-Hugo in Segré (Maine-et-Loire). Six people had to be evacuated. Concerning the origin of the fire, no avenue has been ruled out.

Around 5 a.m., on the night of Thursday 23 to Friday 24 May 2024, a fire broke out in a collective house on the Victor Hugo shopping street in Segré (Maine-et-Loire).

Around fifty firefighters and around fifteen vehicles intervened to extinguish the fire using two hoses. The fire is out but the intervention is still in progress.

Six people evacuated

The business, below the apartments, was not directly affected by the fire. But checks are underway regarding the structure of the building. The business may be closed for a period of time.

Six people who were victims of the fire had to be evacuated, with no need for rehousing. Two people, a pregnant woman and a young man were transported to Angers University Hospital for checks.

No avenue has been ruled out, including that of a voluntary and criminal act.
