Roland-Garros 2023. At what time and on which TV channels to watch the tournament live?

On which channels and at what time will you be able to follow the 2024 edition of the Roland-Garros tournament? This year, as in 2021, 2022 and 2023, two audiovisual groups (France Télévisions and Amazon Prime Video) share the broadcast of the Parisian Grand Slam, which begins on May 26 and ends on June 9. We take stock of the coverage programs of these two groups, whose contracts with the French Tennis Federation both run until 2027.

What broadcast program for France Télévisions?

France Télévisions remains the “historic” partner of the Roland-Garros tournament. The program includes nearly 10 hours of live, unencrypted broadcasting every day. The broadcast will be shared between France 2, France 3 and France 4, with coverage starting at 11 a.m. (at least for the first week). The qualifications (from May 20) are available on France.tv and the France tv sport application, which will also offer a range of matches complementary to that already present on the TNT channels. The main matches of the tournament will be available in replay for seven days.

The public group will not be able to broadcast the “night sessions”, like last year, exclusive to Prime Video. On the other hand, and this is the big news this year, France Télévisions is recovering the broadcasting rights for the matches taking place on the Simonne-Mathieu court (third largest venue in the stadium), owned by the American platform since 2021.

Which broadcast program for Amazon Prime Video?

For the fourth consecutive year, Amazon, via its Amazon Prime Video platform (6.99 euros per month), will broadcast Roland-Garros matches. And not just any… The streaming service has obtained exclusivity for “night sessions”, namely the matches which will be played in the evening and which will start at 8:30 p.m.

Generally, these are the most prestigious matches, involving the best-known players on the world circuit. A total of 11 matches, including two quarter-finals, will be broadcast by Amazon Prime Video. A night session has also been added to the program compared to last year, on the first Sunday of the tournament, May 26.
