Grounded since its liquidation in August 2023, the airline could take flight again very soon. The management of Air Antilles announced this Thursday, May 23, the obtaining of the Air Transport Certificate (CTA), a mandatory step to be able to take off.

The resumption of Air Antilles flights was announced for March 2024, it should take place soon. The airline announced this Thursday that it had obtained the Air Transport Certificate. A precious key issued by the Directorate of Civil Aviation, an essential document for a company to be able to operate.

Before long, the four aircraft in the fleet, three ATRs and a Twin Otter, could resume flights and connect Martinique, Saint-Barthélémy, Saint-Martin and Guadeloupe. Ticket sales will soon be possible online, at points of sale and at approved agencies, according to Air Antilles management, which is announcing a limited promotional offer on the occasion of the company’s “new flight”.

After the liquidation of the airline in August 2023, Air Antilles found a takeover solution, formed by the local authority of Saint-Martin and the Edeis airport group. The start of a road strewn with pitfalls towards a resumption of activity postponed several times. Among the difficulties which affected the deadlines, the need to order parts to modernize the planes, the modification of the reservation system and the internal reorganization.

As a reminder, the liquidation of the Caire group left behind the 78 employees of Air Guyane, which ceased to exist, and 98 employees out of the 215 that Air Antilles had.
