iv>Nadège Saillet “did not ask for a serious danger phone”. However, his alleged murderer had already been convicted twice for domestic violence. On May 17, the 33-year-old woman died following another night of violence.
Around 8:30 p.m., witnesses alerted emergency services that an altercation was taking place on a public highway. The 33-year-old woman, then pregnant, confirms having suffered violence from her 42-year-old ex-partner. She was then taken to hospital to undergo examinations. But after leaving the emergency room, Nadège Saillet leaves by car with her former companion towards her home, located in Mulhouse (Haut-Rhin). On the road, a new argument breaks out. The man stops in the town of Riedisheim (Haut-Rhin) where his Nadège Saillet gets out of the vehicle. It was then that he suddenly backed up and collided with the thirty-year-old. Local residents testify to having seen him fall to the ground while the car quickly restarts to escape. Transferred to Strasbourg hospital, the victim died 24 hours later following multiple fractures and head injuries. The child she was carrying did not survive.

A certain “control” over the victim

The alleged perpetrator was indicted on May 19 for intentional violence against a spouse and intentional homicide against a spouse. This procedure brought to light his previous convictions for domestic violence. He was notably sentenced to ten months in prison on probation in October 2022. On April 8, 2023, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison, including ten on probation for similar facts. The forty-year-old was then prohibited from appearing at Nadège Saillet’s home and prohibited from making contact with her.
The public prosecutor of Mulhouse, Edwige Roux-Morizot, indicates that this is surely a case “of influence”. At the time of the events, the alleged perpetrator, domiciled in Arras for his trial, had returned to Mulhouse, “with the agreement of his ex-partner to discuss the situation of his 22-month-old daughter who was the subject of judicial placement. If the alleged perpetrator “suffers from very serious addictions”, indicates the prosecutor, Nadège Saillet did not have “requested protection” and had not asked “benefit from a serious danger telephone”.
