While it seems that coordination between the United States and Israel is emerging regarding the choice of targets for a military response in Iran, Benjamin Netanyahu announced, at the request of Joe Biden, that he would not strike the installations Iranian oil companies.
So far, the Israeli Prime Minister has disregarded the requests of the President of the United States. J. Biden proposes peace plans, B. Netanyahu ignores them. J. Biden warns that Lebanon must not be attacked, B. Netanyahu bombs Beirut. J. Biden demands explanations regarding the use of Palestinian civilians as “human shields”, silence from B. Netanyahu. On many issues, he did not win his case. Even more, he accepted refusals.
What is more worrying is to realize that when it comes to avoiding an oil and economic crisis which would result in the defeat of Kamala Harris in the next presidential elections, the United States immediately regains its capacity to weigh on Israel. When economic interests are at stake, they are firm enough to get something from Netanyahu, but when it comes to the lives of the Palestinians, obviously the effort is less.
