the third and fourth graders in the rugby section of La Garenne college practice rugby every week. This year the section was made up of 18 girls, engaged in the Minis Excellence championship which corresponds to the highest level of school sport. At the end of the academic phase (3 tournaments), the Lotoises finished vice-champions. The balance sheet is very positive with 6 victories, 1 draw and 2 defeats. The residents of Alzou then played in the interacademic final on April 3 on the grounds of Narbonne. A tournament which brought together the two best teams from the academies of Toulouse and Montpellier. With a good third place (out of 14 teams), the Rugby Section of La Garenne college, the little Thumb of this championship, sold its skin dearly this year. She narrowly missed qualifying for the French championships but will be keen to come back stronger next year.

On its scale and with its means, the La Garenne sports section participates in the development of Lotois women’s rugby which is spreading throughout Occitania to the great delight of Jean-Claude Tardieu, president of the Lot departmental rugby committee.

For the 2024-2025 school year and with a view to recruitment for the female section of the college, a detection afternoon is organized at the Pierre de Coubertin stadium in Gramat on Friday May 31 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., for girls born in 2012, 2011 and 2010.
