Castelfranc. A vote “like the grown-ups” for the Incorruptibles Prize

The Incorruptibles Prize is the first literary prize awarded by young readers, which allows them to develop a taste for reading by discovering each year a choice of books adapted to their age. For 35 years, this association has had thousands of children vote for their favorite story, including students from Castelfranc school who enjoy participating in this national event every year. Especially since the final vote is organized like major elections, with the kind participation of the town hall which sets up a real polling station for the occasion, in order to introduce children to this essential civic act. . Since the start of the school year, CE and CM classes have received a selection of 6 books per level, which they have been able to share reading in class and at home with their family. This Friday, the students went to the community hall to vote for their favorite book. Welcomed by Mayor Laurent Bolos and elected officials of the town, each child with their voter card collected their voting materials, before going into the voting booth like adults. It was with pride that each of them was able to slip their ballot into the ballot box and sign the attendance sheet, in front of their comrades who wore the hats of president or assessors. Then opening the envelopes allowed each age group to discover the results according to the rules of an official counting. A great initiative acclaimed by the Castelfranc students, who leave with the pride of having contributed to the choice of the year’s favorite books in a fun way.
