Around fifty teenagers will attend the twelfth edition of the Clap d’Or Festival next Saturday at Quai 10 (Côté Parc). Organized by the AJMO, in collaboration with the youth centers L’Eveil and la Broc, this festival offers young people the opportunity to showcase their talents in the creation of short films. Among these, Yanis Kachachi is participating for the third time as an actor and hopes to win first place this year. The audiovisual student from Condorcet is the main actor in Disconnecta film directed by Rosario Trunzo for the L’Eveil youth center. “Our film tells the story of the evolution of technologies from 1998 to 2030 and the risks that this represents for the future. Last year, I received the second prize for best actor but the film was less successful. We shot too quickly and this time, we took the time to do things better. There was a lot of editing work, we gave our all to this project.explains Yanis Kachachi.

A passion first

For the budding actor, it is not particularly a question of considering a career in cinema or theater. “I did theater, but above all it remains a passion. I learned a lot about editing technique thanks to this experience for the Clap d’Or”, he said. The films presented were all shot in an environment close to youth centers, in Ransart for example or in Gosselies.

A jury will be tasked with determining the winners of this new edition next Saturday. Among them, we find the comedian Sum, the director of the Quai 10 cinema but also a journalist and a videographer from the region. The screening will begin at 2 p.m. on May 25 and the awards ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m., before the drinks dinner.
