Lonzo Ball made his big return to the NBA courts with a short pre-season match, just to warm up and get back on the pitch after 1,006 days of juggling injuries.

It was a real way of the cross that ended last night for Lonzo Ball. It took two and a half years of absence, but here he is again on the floor of the United Center. After 10 points and one standing ovation to welcome the return of the one we no longer expected, Zo spoke about what he felt:

“I want to say that you feel much better playing than watching. I can’t even put into words what I felt on the pitch. It’s a moment I will never forget.” –Lonzo Ball

If he is very happy to have returned, Zo does not forget to thank the Bulls. The leader had already done so before this match by saying that Chicago had stayed by his side throughout the rehabilitation process. He also does not forget to pay tribute to the fans of the Illinois franchise:

“There are a lot of people who have helped me. Just seeing the crowd and the love I get from the fans, there’s no way I can imitate that.” –Lonzo Ball

Throughout his rehabilitation, the man who has now canceled his subscription to the Bulls infirmary never doubted that one day or another he would make his comeback. Zo knew he was in for a long process, but he continued to remain hopeful. Efforts rewarded last night.

Of course, after the meeting, the Taureaux coach, Billy Donovan, did not fail to slip in a little word about the long-awaited return of number 2:

“I give him a lot of credit for coming back after two and a half years away. You play your first game, I know it’s not regular season, but just getting on an NBA court. I know he’s worked hard to be ready for this moment.” –Billy Donovan

Now let’s hope the injuries are officially behind Lonzo Ball and he’s back to pick up his career right where he left off.
