Thanks to his first victory in a major, his first success of the season Xander Schauffele will climb to 2nd place in the world and this Monday morning dislodge Rory McIlroy from the place of runner-up to Scottie Scheffler in the hierarchy. But this grand slam title is also synonymous with a very, very big check with an increasing prize pool announced on the eve of the last round.

A few hours before the close of this 106th edition of the PGA Championship, the PGA of America revealed that the overall prize pool for the 2nd Major of the season increased from 17.5 to 18.5 million. Last year, Brooks Koepka left Oak Hill with $3.15 million. This year Xander Schauffele will pocket 3.3 million!
