BYD continues to develop its Seal range. After the Seal sedan, the Seal U SUV, here is now the crossover, the Sealion 7, the seventh 100% electric vehicle launched by the Chinese manufacturer in Europe, which uses a name linked to the sea. After the Dolphin and the Seal, now here is Sealion 7, which means sea lion.

Aesthetically, this new model takes up the stylistic codes of the Seal family with hook-shaped headlights, flush door handles and a pronounced roof drop, but there are obviously differences with a higher ride height and more pronounced wheel arches.

Indeed, with a total length of 4,830 mm, or 10 cm than the Seal sedan, this SUV benefits above all from a greater height of 16 cm mm. The wheelbase of 2,930 mm allows you to benefit from generous rear roominess, especially since the floor is completely flat. No indication, however, for the loading volume.

Inside, we discover a dashboard giving pride of place to technology with digital instrumentation, a good-sized multimedia screen, but the dimensions of which are still unknown. The quality of the materials is very good.

When released, the Sealion 7 will be available in several configurations. In its most powerful version, equipped with two engines and four-wheel drive, it can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The maximum speed is 215 km/h. The charging power can reach 230 kW. No information on LFP (Lithium, Iron, Phosphate) battery capacity.

The Sealion 7 will be released very soon. Prices are not yet known. Deliveries should take place by the end of the year.

Chinese models may be scary, but one thing is certain, they are intriguing. The proof is that hall 5.2, mainly occupied by Chinese manufacturers, is simply crowded. It is therefore very difficult to approach the cars on display. The price of success?
