MONT-ROUGE: a new detective series co-produced by Connections Productions and Productions Casablanca to watch this Thursday, May 16, 2024 on ICI TOU.TV EXTRA

Welcome to Mont-Rouge, a splendid isolated town in New Brunswick. As we celebrate the end of the tourist season, the savage and inexplicable murder of a man involved in the community disrupts this charming, uneventful village. This is the starting point of Mont-Rouge, a detective series written by Pierre-Marc Drouin (The Siege, In Memoriam, Reasonable Doubt) and directed by Jim Donovan. It includes 6 episodes of 43 minutes which will all be put online this Thursday, May 16 on ICI TOU.TV EXTRA and which will be shown during the 2024-2025 season on ICI TÉLÉ.

The original idea of Pierre-Marc Drouin, Mont-Rouge is co-produced by Connections Productions and Productions Casablanca.

Mont-Rouge stars Kène Chiasson and Normand Daneau in the lead roles, as well as Monique Spaziani, Frank Schorpion, Samuel Gauthier and several actors from New Brunswick including Christian Essiambre, Tanya Brideau, Florence Brunet, Gabriel-Vincent Deslauriers, André Roy, Josiane Benoit, Carlo Weka, Matthieu Girard, Mélanie Léger, Océane Lanteigne, Tommy Des Rosiers, Luc Leblanc, David Losier, Annik Landry, Marc Lamontagne, Raphaël Butler, Alex Marcoux, Sylvain Ward, Jean-Sébastien Lévesque, Marc-André Robichaud, Robert Gauvin and Jeanie Bourdages.

When Tim Coffman (Frank Schorpion) is found dead near Murray Manor, where he has just invested a huge sum, the community of Mont-Rouge is in shock. Friendly local police officer Manon Daigle (Karene Chiasson) is asked to assist Moncton homicide detective Luc Doiron (Normand Daneau). Very quickly, their opposing personalities make the investigation difficult. The crime has enormous repercussions on the Manor, the economic engine of the village. Tim’s owner and ex-partner, Agnès Murray (Monique Spaziani), is so dismayed that she stops working. His daughter Sandrine Pelletier (Tanya Brideau), who is acting as interim manager, is crumbling under pressure but tries as best she can to offer her wealthy clientele good hotel services. The Manoir sees its future customers canceling their stay.

As this is an almost perfect crime, the clues are few and far between. Manon and Luc must lift all the stones and access the darkest part of Mont-Rouge. Its residents are losing their splendor. Starting with the victim herself, who has caused so much harm to so many people that the pool of suspects continues to grow.

As the investigation progresses, Manon will be more and more confronted with the true nature of the people in her small community which is revealed, suddenly revealing faults that she never suspected in them. After a breathtaking investigation, will Manon and Luc manage to find the culprit? And all this for what? To bring justice to a monster?
