The trends are confirmed in the City of Brussels. Seven out of ten offices were stripped. The PS is in the lead with nearly 27.6 percent of the vote despite a decline. He is ahead of the MR (20.8%) which has made a good progression of 8 points.
Ecolo-Groen is experiencing a slight backlash. The Greens convinced almost 13.7 percent of voters. They are now neck and neck with the PTB which is progressing a little (13.3%). The PTB, however, does not seem able to repeat its coup of last June in the regional elections in the canton of Brussels. Team Fouad Ahidar makes a remarkable entrance with 10 percent. She is ahead of Les Engagés who are losing weight (6.7%). But less than Défi who was in the majority during the last legislature. The party led by Fabian Maingain plummets to seventh place and loses 5 points (2.6%). He would have no elected officials.
The PS-Ecolo-Défi majority therefore no longer holds at this stage. The City of Brussels will see the emergence of a new coalition. At this stage, the socialists seem inevitable.
