A solution for recycle more? This is an innovation attempted by the company Parcel Relay the experimentation of which is currently taking place in (Seine-Maritime). In a few words, the system is the same as sending parcels. With the exception that the item sent is sent for recycling. Somewhere, relay points become extensions to recycling centers.

“In town, we are five minutes from a relay,” explains Cécile Nury, marketing director of Relais colis to explain this choice. “It’s easier for everyone. »

“We know exactly what’s in the package”

Concretely, the user will put the product (clothing, device, etc.) that they throw away in a package, print a receipt on the internet and send it to the Parcel Relay partner. On site, the merchant scans a QR code and stores it before an eco-organization specializing in recycling comes by and takes the package with it.

“It’s simpler for traceability. We know exactly what’s in the package,” promotes the manager. “It makes people’s lives a little easier. »

“Initially, it was a request from these eco-organizations who wanted to new collection sources. For Parcel Relay this is relevant. We rely on our usual technology,” explains Cécile Nury.

Will the experience be extended?

For the moment, this recycling method is being tested in the Rouen area – within the meaning of Relais clis. This represents 312 relays distributed between Seine-Maritime and Eure, but also Oise and Seine-et-.

“We’ll take stock later. It will be our partners who will tell us if they want to extend the experience. For us, for it to be widespread throughout the territory, all you need to do is press a button,” she says. Rouen residents therefore need to recycle a lot so that the mechanism can benefit everyone.
