At this stage, it seems, according to the first deputy, Anthony Borré, contacted by Nice-Matin, that falling rocks alerted the technicians and engineers present on site.

Both buildings were immediately evacuated to prevent any risk of collapse.

The two buildings consist of twenty-four apartments. According to the first deputy and the firefighters, five people have so far been evacuated. Jean-Marc Giaume, deputy mayor, is on the scene.

A city engineer was commissioned. “We are not able to say how long the assessments will last”indicates Anthony Borré. “All necessary analyzes will be carried out.” Geological experts are expected on site.

Around ten firefighters are currently responding.
