Around 5:45 a.m., Wednesday May 15, 2024, a traffic accident was reported on the A81 motorway, near Joué-en-Charnie (Sarthe), involving a heavy goods vehicle, we can read on the Bison website smart. It occurred in the Le Mans – Rennes direction, before interchange no. 1, and caused traffic disruption.

In the Rennes – Le Mans direction, exiting the motorway was made compulsory around 8:30 a.m., at landmark (PR) 202.

The truck was carrying 60 cattle. To ensure the safety of users and animals, the highway has been completely cut in both directions. “The operation should last several hours,” according to communication from Cofiroute.

The Sarthe Departmental Fire and Rescue Service also reported a slightly injured person, transported to a hospital center. 30 firefighters, from different emergency centers in the department, were mobilized on site.
