A 15-year-old cyclist dies in an accident on rue des Halles in Orléans

Firefighters intervened Wednesday morning on a serious traffic accident involving a heavy goods vehicle and a bicycle, rue des Halles in Orléans. The cyclist died.

The victim died. It concerns a cyclist aged 15 (contrary to the first information transmitted).

The emergency services, firefighters and Samu tried to resuscitate him without success.

He was allegedly hit by a 19-ton refrigerated truck, driven by a 58-year-old man who was psychologically shocked. He was taken care of by the firefighters and the police.

The technical and scientific police arrived on the scene. The circumstances of the collision remain undetermined at this time. The following were involved in this intervention: seven firefighters, the national and municipal police, the Smur and therefore the national and municipal police.

An imposing security perimeter has been set up. This part of rue des Halles will remain closed.
