Just like their Premier League counterparts, Arsenal players will play on the pitch at the Emirates Stadium next season. “We plan to play eight Baraclays Women’s Super League matches at the Emirates Stadium, as well as three UEFA Champions League (WSL) matches if we qualify for the group stage”indicates the London club in a press release.

If the Gunners qualify for the final phase of the Women’s Champions League, they would return to play at the Emirates Stadium. The rest of the league matches and other competitions would be held at Meadow Park, the reserve team’s ground, which accommodates 4,500 seats around twenty kilometers away.

Three attendance records broken this season

“This fantastic news follows the strong support both at home and away this season. Our six WSL matches at Emirates Stadium saw an average crowd of 52,029, including two sellouts and three Women’s Champions League attendance records., specifies the club. The women’s team thus has an average attendance of 32,618 people this season (compared to an average of less than 1,000 supporters in French D1).

NARRATIVE. 20 years ago, Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ made Premier League history

“The next step in our journey is to make Emirates Stadium our main home for Arsenal Women”assures Vinai Venkatesham, the CEO of the club.
