It’s called “MyGov.be”. Belgian citizens are among the first in Europe to have a tool of this type. The application, free and optional, allows citizens to have a “dematerialized wallet“who wants to be”universal, accessible, simple, secure and respectful of privacy“, as communicated by the authorities.

In this digital wallet, the citizen will be able to group their identity data, their eBox, certificates and official documents such as a birth certificate, a marriage certificate, Covid vaccination certificates or the ISI + card. He will also be able to carry out his administrative procedures online via MyGov.be from his smartphone. In a later version, the application will allow electronic signing.

All administrations in the country will be offered to work with this platform in order to facilitate administrative procedures for citizens.

The citizen will be free to use or not to use MyGov.be. If they wish to download and activate this service, they must do so via the Itsme application or via their identity card.

Note that, for the moment, all the documents contained in the digital wallet do not yet have legal value. Some may not be available, including in all languages.

Finally, the application is not yet suitable for all operating systems.
