UFC middleweight fighter Michel Pereira is helping those suffering from recent flooding in southern .

In recent weeks, thousands of people have been forced to leave their homes in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, due to incessant flooding. More than 116 people died in this disaster. Power plants and water treatment plants were damaged by flooding across the state.

Many fighters, including Michel Pereira, took advantage of their presence at UFC 301 (all results here) to send messages. Days after knocking out Ihor Potieria at UFC 301, Pereira is first in line to help with the efforts.

In a recent Instagram post, Michel Pereira showed images and videos of the destruction caused by the floods. “ I’m exhausted, but I never tire of helping“, posted Pereira. “ I have never seen anything like this in my entire life, which is why I chose to be on the front lines. We are with you, Rio Grande do Sul. »

It’s very sad what we see here. The force of the water is too great. There is nothing that can resist it. But I am sure of one thing: we will rebuild everythinge. »

As Michel Pereira prepares for his next fight, he is doing everything he can to help his hometown community. He is one of many Brazilian fighters who are on the front lines helping the state recover from the floods. Thousands of flood victims have taken shelter in various relief centers across the state. More storms are expected to hit the region later this week.
