The Food Safety Authority of Ireland have recalled batches of milk.

An urgent recall has been issued for a specific brand of milk in Ireland due to safety concerns.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland issued an alert over ‘For Gut Sake Lovely Leitrim Farm Fresh Raw Milk’ on Friday. It said that all batches have been recalled “due to concerns with hygiene controls during production”.

The milk has since been removed from sale and recall notices will be displayed where it was sold. Anyone with the product at home is advised not to consume it.

The FSAI said: “For Gut Sake is recalling all batches of its Lovely Leitrim Farm Fresh Raw Milk due to concerns with hygiene controls during production. Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale.

A description for the milk on the brand’s website reads: “For Gut Sake raw milk is a family run business in South Leitrim, we bottle raw cows milk on the farm.

We have a diverse herd of cows; Friesian, Jersey, Ayrshire and Shorthorn, carefully crossed for the best characteristics of their breed. We are once a day milkers resulting in lower yields but far healthier cows, with much higher protein and butterfat than cows milked twice a day.”
