It is still time for questioning this Monday morning on the banks of the Meuse after the revelation of information this Friday from 777 Partners to call on a company expert in business restructuring, and therefore to separate from Standard de Liège.

Accused of fraud for a sum amounting to more than 600 million euros, the American company requested the services of B Riley Advisory Services, according to the internal memo obtained by the Financial Times. An internal memo which talks about rationalizing the company by managing the various operational challenges and choosing the most profitable path for its investments.

Various sums have been put forward in the press concerning the amount of the Liège club’s debt: from 60 million to around twenty, the latter amount being advanced by Standard this time. The challenge will therefore be to find someone capable of clearing this sum and allowing the club to start from a blank page. Several names are already circulating: Lucien D’Onofrio accompanied by Robert Lesman or the Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote.

Concerning the sporting aspect now, the club is trying to invoke force majeure to justify the absence of its team during the reception of Westerlo on Friday evening following the actions of the supporters in front of the academy.

The disciplinary council will take up the matter this Monday and the forfeit could however be recorded. Note that in the event of three consecutive withdrawals, Number 16 would then be declared a general withdrawal for the current season and therefore relegated to the Challenger Pro League.
