Dark day on the A7 motorway in the return direction

At midday, this Sunday, May 12, it took more than 3 hours to reach Valence from Orange. The A7 motorway was so saturated that it is a safe bet that traffic jam records will be broken for this return from the Ascension long weekend. In fact, this was to be expected since since Wednesday the news channels and the 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. hours of TF1 and France 2 have been full of reports on the shores of the Mediterranean showing us crowded beaches and restaurant terraces. It is therefore no surprise that the return promised to be complicated for all those who were going to go back north. No wonder in fact that yesterday at the exit of Orange after the connection between the A7 and the A9 (our photo) the vehicles were bumper to bumper to such an extent that according to 107.7 it took 3 hours 15 minutes to reach Valencia whereas normally, it takes 50 minutes. And there’s no question of playing smart and leaving the highway. As a result of these traffic jams on the A7, the secondary network was also saturated so much so that between Orange and Bollène, the famous Nationale 7 was also particularly congested.
