The biggest star in world soccer, Argentina’s Lionel Messi, is in town with his Inter Miami teammates to take on CF Montreal at Stade Saputo.

The World Cup champion, now 37, is in the starting lineup for Miami alongside, among others, the famous Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets.

It will therefore be quite a sporting task for the Montreal team, which is still dealing with injuries to some of its important players, especially in the offensive sector.

Arriving in Montreal last night, Messi created a real frenzy in the Metropolis among soccer fans of all ages and origins. His arrival at the Ritz-Carlton hotel, in the city center, took place to the clamor of admirers who had been waiting there for several hours.

Inter Miami currently sits at the top of the general MLS standings with a total of 24 points in twelve matches. CF Montreal, entangled in turmoil for several days due to the departure of sports director Olivier Renard, occupies 11th place in the rankings in the East.
