An urgent search has been launched by the police for a heavily pregnant woman who has been missing for weeks and is feared to be sleeping rough. Obdulia Gracia Medina, 39, may have already given birth on the streets of London, police say.

Obdulia was reported missing to Surrey Police by hospital staff on Sunday, April 14. The last known sighting of her was on May 10 in London and police are growing increasingly concerned for her.

Investigations revealed that Obdulia was at a venue in Cosway Street, north west London that evening. She was last seen walking northbound along Edgware Road around 9.15pm.

Detective Inspector Simon Beechey, one of the officers responsible for policing Westminster, said: “Obdulia has been missing for almost a month. In that time we have been working around the clock to find her and have carried out many enquiries.

“I am now more appealing to the public to assist us with inquiries to help find Obdulia, who we know was heavily pregnant or might now even have given birth. Obdulia is originally from Surrey but is recently believed to have been attending the Paddington and Marylebone areas.

“We believe she may be sleeping rough and we are seriously concerned for her welfare.”

He added a direct appeal to Obdulia, saying: “I am also appealing directly to Obdulia. The health of you and your baby, whether you have now given birth or the child is unborn, is vitally important. Please seek medical help or call 999 immediately.”

Anyone with information or who has seen Obdulia, or knows her whereabouts, is urged to call 101, quoting reference 01/290774/24. For immediate sightings, please call 999.
