The 6 Hours of Spa have been neutralized since 5:13 p.m. under a red flag following the accident involving the Cadillac V-Series.R n°2 – Cadillac Racing of Earl Bamber and the BMW M4 GT3 n°31 – Team WRT of Sean Gelael in the Kemmel straight.

The New Zealand driver, battling with Neel Jani (Porsche 963 n°99 – Proton Competition), tried to take advantage of his speed differential after the Raidillon de l’Eau Rouge to pass the Swiss, but came into contact with Sean Gelael’s BMW No. 31 which was located there.

Despite an impressive antics from the American LMDh, both drivers are doing well, but the race was logically neutralized under a red flag, to evacuate the cars and repair the barriers. Bamber and Gelael will have check-ups at the medical center.

This is the second incident where a BMW M4 – Team WRT has been unfortunately involved, following the accident between the #38 Porsche – Hertz Team JOTA and the #46 BMW – Team WRT earlier in the event.

The two Ferrari 499Ps – Ferrari AF Corse currently dominate the general classification while the No. 91 Porsche 911 GT3 R – Manthey EMA remains in the lead in LMGT3.
