After his victory on Friday, Thibau Nys (Lidl-Trek) once again won in the sprint on the Tour of Hungary (2.Pro) during the fourth stage between Budapest and Etyek (165.5km) on Saturday. He beat the Swiss Marc Hirschi (UAE Team Emirates) and Yannis Voisard (You sleep).

With this victory, Thibau Nys consolidates his position as leader in the general classification with 14 seconds ahead of the Italian Diego Ulissi (UAE Emirates) and 16 on the German Emanuel Buchmann (BORA-hansgrohe). Three other Belgians arrived in the top 10: Lander Loockx (TDT-Unibet Cycling Team) fifth, Harm Vanhoucke (Lotto Dstny) sixth and Elias Maris (Flanders-Baloise) tenth.

After a course with three third category passes including three sprints, Nys came out on top when the peloton joined the leading group over the last kilometers. In a sprint launched relatively early, he managed to keep Hirschi behind him.

Nys signed the fifth victory of his career, the third of his season after triumphing in the third stage on Friday.

The fifth and final stage of the Tour of Hungary will take place on Sunday and will be held over 173.2 kilometers between Siofok and Pecs. This stage will have a rather flat part with three intermediate sprints before continuing with two second category passes: the first 1.7km at 10.5% (two passages) and the second 2.3km at 8.7% at the arrival. In 2023, Marc Hirschi won the final victory ahead of the Briton Ben Tulett And Yannis Voisard.
