Pro D2: FCG wins against Colomiers (29-10) and will go to the end of season play-off!

The FCG will be in the final phase of Pro D2! The Grenoblois won 29-10 against Colomiers for the 29th and penultimate day of Pro D2 this Friday evening. A victory with the offensive bonus which guarantees them a place in the final phase of Pro D2 on May 23 or 24.

The first period was choppy, with Grenoblois making a series of inaccuracies and Columérins making mistakes. Nevertheless, the FCG quickly took the advantage following a lost touch from Colomiers. After some time of play, Nathan Farissier scored the first try of the match. And in the 30th, Romain Trouilloud increased the score after a slightly more constructed sequence from the FCG (12-0). The first period was also marked by three yellow cards, two for Colomiers and one for Grenoble for accumulation of fouls in scrum.

Colomiers revives in the second period

Colomiers carries the ball more in the second half, and is rewarded. After a good sequence, Guillaume Tartas flattens and puts the Columérins back at 8 points in the FCG. A penalty allows them to return to 5 points. But Grenoble wakes up, without scoring and taking definitive shelter. The tension is then extreme at the Stade des Alpes! Finally the FCG breathes thanks to a try in the 73rd minute from Mathis Sarragallet.

The bonus test for Javakhia

Everything goes very quickly on return! Romain Trouilloud intercepts a ball and second line Giorgi Javakhia goes to flatten alone to seal Grenoble’s victory as well as their place in the top 6 of Pro D2. They will play a quarter-final on May 23 or 24 depending on their result in Aix-en-Provence for the last day of the championship, Friday May 17.
