It is the second most visited castle in France after Versailles, and it continues to attract tourists! After a attendance record in 2023with 1.148 million people over the year, the Château de Chambord has just recorded a new record: that of the greatest number of visitors in a single day. Indeed, this Thursday, May 9, Ascension Day, more than 11,000 people were welcomed on the site. “Such attendance had never been recorded in Chambord” confirms Pierre Dubreuil, Director General of the National Domain in a press release.
Visitors who were able to admire the castle but also take advantage of the estate’s offers: equestrian shows, workshops for children, guided tours… All activities were sold out. By comparison, at the time of the Ascension Bridge in 2023, the maximum number of visitors per day had just exceeded 9,000.

Nearly 30,000 people in three days

This year, while this big weekend of bridges is not over, many tourists have already come: 8,564 visitors on Wednesday May 8, 11,376 visitors on Thursday May 9, 9,000 visitors on Friday May 10 according to the latest figures.
To make the most of your visit, the site advises moreoverarrive before 10:30 a.m. or after 3:30 p.m. even this Saturday, May 11, and book your tickets in advance.
