At the age of two, this little Scottish girl made a heroic gesture. She informed her mother about the fire which broke out in a building next to her home.

Pride and astonishment, the Lanarck firefighters were struck by the responsiveness of a 2-year-old little girl.

Hot fire, burning fire

Seeing the home near her house catch on fire, Alloweigh also called her mother. According to information from Skynewsthe events took place in South Lanarkshire in Scotland. She immediately informed her mother as soon as she saw smoke coming from the neighboring house.

Isla Frame was in the kitchen preparing the evening meal when she heard her daughter’s cries. “Mummy mummy ! Fire, hot, fire, burning!“, alerted Alloweigh. Not very convinced, the little girl’s mother thought she was talking about a fire which was taking place on television. The little girl doesn’t give up and asks her mother to contact the firefighters.

She grabbed my jeans pocket and dragged me through the house“, reports the 38-year-old woman. The mother agrees to follow her daughter and when she glances through her window, she actually sees “smoke coming out of the windows“. A fire declared in an apartment which is on the ground floor of the neighboring building. Isla alerts the firefighters directly.

Firefighters impressed by Alloweigh

The fire fighters were only able to control the flames after two hours. A dozen residents had to be exfiltrated from the scene and brought to safety. “There was also a gas reserve so it could have been much worse “, said Mrs. Frame, she spoke of her pride in her daughter’s presence of mind.

The firefighters were touched by Alloweigh’s responsiveness despite her very young age. According to the mother’s statement to Skynewsa member of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) Family Support Trust reportedly revealed that “in his 41-year career, he had never seen someone so young call a fire“. Commander Paul Mathieson gave the girl a certificate of appreciation and she was given the right to visit Lanark Barracks.
