Nine departments are placed on orange rain-flood vigilance from this Monday evening, according to the Météo France bulletin published at 4 p.m. Significant accumulations in a short time are expected in the Cévennes in particular, they will extend towards the Saône plain and the South-East.
Vigilance begins at 10 p.m. Monday. It concerns Ardèche, Gard, Lozère, Saône-et-LoireJura, Ain, Isère, Loire, Rhône.
Vigilance will be extended to Hautes-Alpes at midnight and to Alpes-Maritimes on Tuesday at 3 a.m., bringing the number of departments on orange vigilance to 11. Côte-d’Or remains on yellow alert.
Forecasts in Saône-et-Loire
According to Météo France, the weather will become stormy in the evening in Val de Loire as well as in the east of the department. The instability subsides quickly, but showers remain possible everywhere until midnight. The heaviest rainfall totals can be around 50 millimeters in Bresse but it could reach 70 millimeters locally. At the start of the night, the south wind will blow quite strongly, in Louhannais with gusts reaching 55 km/h.
The end of the alert in these departments is scheduled for Tuesday around 3:00 p.m., according to Météo France. In certain departments currently placed on yellow alert for thunderstorms and/or rain-floods such as the Côte-d’Orthis level of vigilance could be revised upwards.
