A dozen cars burned in Brest in a single night: “We’re more than fed up” [Vidéo]

The events took place around 3 a.m. according to residents interviewed on site. During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, around ten cars were burned at the foot of the Kerbernard towers, in Brest (29), near the Géant hypermarket.

Residents are outraged by these acts of vandalism. “I didn’t hear anything,” a forty-year-old commented disillusioned. The rooms in my apartment do not overlook the central square. I discovered this this morning. It’s disgusting. Look at the cars targeted, they are modest vehicles which are not recent. They belong to people who will have almost nothing with insurance. However, the harm to them is significant. How are they going to get to work tomorrow? “.

A few meters away, a man notices the damage from his van, decorated with the image of a box from the building. The rear of the vehicle was seriously damaged. “I’m going to tell my boss. It’s going to seriously complicate our lives. We were already short of vehicles. The guys who do this have nothing in their heads.”

The voluntary act seems privileged. And it seems that two fires were at the origin of this disaster, which the firefighters intervened on.

“This is not the first time that cars have burned down in the area,” continues a resident. Even the city’s closed, paid parking lot was the target of arsonists. We’re more than fed up.”
