Lyon won against Lille in a spectacular match (3-4). A defeat which does not help the Mastiffs, who remain behind Brest in the standings. From 3 to 7, discover our scores after this meeting counting for the 32nd day of Ligue 1.

Satisfaction:

We didn’t expect him in this role, but Bafodé Diakité (7) was the most dangerous Lille player in the offensive sector. If defensively he had difficulty coping with Lyon’s attacks, he compensated for these shortcomings by scoring a double. First on the opening score with a header which went into the top corner of Lopes, then to explode the Stade de Pierre Mauroy five minutes from the end of the match by scoring the third Lille goal synonymous with victory for Northerners. However, this third goal did not allow Lille to win because he and the entire defense were apathetic at the end of the match since Lyon managed to equalize and then even go ahead in the score. He could have scored an exceptional hat-trick to snatch the 4-4 but his recovery missed Lopes’ goal.

Returning early in the match following the injury to Yusuf Yazici (26′), Kosovar Edon Zhegrova (6) was once again a real danger for his opponents. From his first ball he managed to send shivers through the stadium with a curling shot, well taken out by Anthony Lopes. Ten minutes later, following a restart error by the Lyon defense, Jonathan David recovered the ball and passed it to him so that he could score his sixth goal of the season and make the break for Lille. He came out fifteen minutes from time, quite incredulous, in place of Alexsandro because Fonseca’s desire was to secure the match by aligning a five-man defense. However it didn’t work as LOSC lost 3-4.

Deceptions :

Unaccustomed to this fact, Lille conceded four goals against OL. One of the main culprits in this shipwreck is Lucas Chevalier. He didn’t make a blatant mistake, but he still went for the ball in the back of his net four times. We could blame him for not having had a firm enough hand on Baldé’s head, but the Bissaoguinean was at point blank range. Elected “Dog of the Month” earlier in the day, the future goalkeeper of the French Olympic Team had a bad evening.

Besides Chevalier, Ismaily (3) was in very difficulty this evening. What we remember is the second half with almost all of Lyon’s offensives going through his side. notably on the first goal where he covers Maitland-Niles and on the last goal where he lets Clinton Mata cross for Mama Baldé. Already in the first half he couldn’t follow Ernest Nuamah’s runs. A match to forget for the Brazilian full-back.

Match notes:

Chevalier (3) – Santos (4), Yoro (4), Diakité (7), Ismaily (3) – Gomes (4), Bentaleb (5) – Zhegrova (6), Haraldsson (3), Gudmundsson (5) – Dave (4)
