Sunday May 5, 2024 at the end of the afternoon, a man was found unconscious in the hot water baths of Thuès-Entre-Valls, in Haut-Conflent. Alerted, the Osséja high mountain gendarmerie platoon (PGHM) went to the site. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the 75-year-old man could not be resuscitated.

Found inanimate in hot baths

The septuagenarian was relaxing in these natural baths this Sunday afternoon. He would then have fallen asleep in the basins before being found there inanimate. His relatives and those present tried, in vain, to help him before help arrived.

On site, the PGHM of Osséja could only note the death of the man, victim of a heart failure. To evacuate the body of the deceased, emergency services used a helicopter hoist.

The funeral services then transported the body to the Perpignan medical-judicial unit. An investigation has just been opened to determine the causes of death.
