“Seeing the vaginal exam together”: Marine Ltemporel delivers the chilling account of a situation experienced in the hospital

The #MeToo movement is now freeing up speech in the hospital environment. Since Karine Lacombe’s accusations about Patrick Pelloux, many women have dared to break the silence. This Sunday, May 5, M6 broadcast a documentary led by Marie Portolano, entitled Not so white blouses. Viewers were then able to hear the stories of women who experienced sexual violence in hospital.

Among them, Marine Loiseau, now a general practitioner. And during her internship, Miss France 2013 experienced very difficult times. “The clichés that I heard about what could happen in operating theaters, I really experienced them,” she indicates.

Marine Ltemporel looks back on traumatic events

She denounces “gritty jokes” but also many inappropriate behaviors. “They may exhibit close behaviors that are completely inappropriate. There is also a lack of respect for the woman’s body in the operating theaters that I have seen.”, she confides, before confiding in a particularly traumatic moment. “We found ourselves in the operating room with several students. We were asked to perform a vaginal examination on a patient who was asleep to teach us this procedure.she blurted.

And Marine Ltemporel was left speechless. “At the time, I couldn’t react. I couldn’t defend this patient. To speak for her who had not given her consent at all.”

Miss France 2013 regrets not having reacted

Miss France maintains that “this act [leur] was proposed like that, all at once.” “Really, the doctor said to himself: ‘Ah well, since she’s asleep, maybe we could see the vaginal examination together’. It was spontaneous”, she confides. It is “clearly a gratuitous sexual assault offered to students”. But these latter “don’t dare say to the boss: ‘Well no, what you’re doing is completely inappropriate'”, confides Marine Ltemporel.

“What could have happened in the operating room went very, very far”, she blurted. “I no longer wanted to go to this internship at all. I was going backwards. It was horrible”, she concludes.
