Harassment awareness & rugby afternoon: a day with Rugby Olympique Lunelois! – Hérault Rugby

This Wednesday afternoon, our Cistes Luka Japaridze and Madosh Tambwe went to the ROL field and met the U6, U8 and U10, as part of the second stage of the tour of rugby schools in the region.

Before the meeting with the Cistes, the U10 group received a visit from Sylvain Dhugues, president of the “Agir pour Devenir” association which aims to raise awareness among young children and adolescents about family violence and school bullying. Indeed, Sylvain, a former MHR player and victim of school harassment, had applied for the 3rd MHR Solidaire call for projects, the commission of which chose to finance 13 awareness-raising interventions in rugby schools in the Montpellier area.

For more than half an hour and in a climate of trust, Sylvain told the young people his story, explained to them the situations he experienced and which some may be confronted with directly or indirectly and allowed them, to their turn, using a pen and a notebook, to put into words what they feel.

Following, the apprentice rugby players find their instructors and the balls for training.
Between the hawk game and the tackles, the young people from , full of energy, overcame the players before moving on to the traditional signing session and then the snack.

We will meet the children and their parents on Saturday October 12 at the GGL Stadium to come and support the MHR against the Vannetais but also directly on the field for a “half-time match” against their counterparts from Sommières.
