Benoît Magimel makes a moving confession about the death of his father

For several years now, France 2 has been broadcasting the program Lesencontres du papotin. A show in which a personality is invited and answers questions from a panel of atypical journalists. For good reason, the latter suffer from autism spectrum disorders. And for this new number broadcast on Saturday May 4, 2024 on France 2, it was the actor Benoît Magimel who was in the spotlight. And in front of his audience, he agreed to speak without filter on very intimate subjects. He notably spoke about the recent death of his father following a stomach illness. When asked to talk about the death of his father, Benoît Magimel begins to confide, not without emotion. “I lost my father not long ago. He died of another illness, a stomach illness. He liked to eat,” he continued before being cut off by his interlocutor. “He really is a glutton.”

In a previous interview, Benoît Magimel had already spoken about his complex relationship with his father. In 2023, during his consecutive victory at the César for Best Actor, he dedicated his award to his father, saying then: “I dedicate this César to my father, and to all those I love.” A dedication which naturally moved the entire room.
