Goalkeeper Marc-André Fleury’s reputation as a prankster is well established.
Tuesday evening, the Minnesota Wild goaltender was not in uniform for the preparatory duel against the Chicago Blackhawks. That didn’t stop him from adding his two cents to this match presented at the Xcel Energy Center.

Fleury made an appearance on the ice with the team responsible for maintaining the playing surface. He wore a fake mustache and glasses. His disguise was apparently too successful, as his teammates did not recognize him.
The 39-year-old Quebecer skated near the team bench and shouted: “Let’s go, guys!”
The 2024-2025 season will be Fleury’s last in the National League. This is what he announced last April, when he signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Wild.
It will be interesting to see what jokes the very first player selected in the 2003 draft will make during his final lap in the Bettman circuit.
