General surprise Saturday evening September 28, 2024. To celebrate Nicole Béchy’s birthday and retirement, a large part of the children she had looked after during her career as a childminder at L’Absie surprised her by being present in the Scillé room.

In all, 35 families from the area responded to the invitation of the three children of Nicole and Michel Béchy, but also of a few close accomplices like Véronique and Bruno Ayguillon who, like many couples in the area, had their children looked after with the one who will always remain their aunt. “A golden auntie that children love”, they say.

The surprise having been well kept by the guests, the emotion for Nicole was at its height when she entered the room where a happy birthday was sung to her by the entire “his children” who have grown up well.

After long hugs punctuated by laughter but also tears, the evening began. A little photo here, another there. As for Stéphanie, who was the first to be kept by Nicole in 1976. “I was 1 year old”she explains with a smile. When auntie arrived, she was first in line and held hands with Yline (7 years old) and her little sister Livia, who were the last to be welcomed.

During this evening, everyone talked about memories and anecdotes from “at aunt’s house”: its parmentier, its hard-boiled eggs with tomato sauce, without forgetting the distribution of sweets at departure time in the evening. Even when they are grown up, they still visit him.

Always active, Nicole takes time for herself, does a lot of walking, manual activities and travels with “uncle Michel”. “Saturday evening was a great reunion”specifies Véronique Ayguillon.
